ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

  Electrical Engineering
- part of general service engineering, dealing with technical equipment in the fields of electrical power and low-voltage current. The electrical planning merges these fields with issues of general supply and safety, thus providing an effective integrated system.

Electrical Power Facilities (≥ 100V)
- comprise the general electric supply, as well as facilities in the safety section. The main energy supply, general electric installation and the overall lighting of the building are included in this area. In the safety sector, earthing (grounding), potential equalization, lightning protection, security lighting, as well as smoke ventilation and conduit firestops are planned.

Low-Voltage Current Facilities (< 110V)
- domestic communication facilities such as intercoms, acoustic irradiation, and video systems, and facilities connected to external means of communication such as aerial, telephone, and internet facilities. In the field of safety, the warning, video control, and fire detection facilities are supplied with low-voltage current.

PRELIMINARY PLANNING

- Clarifying requirements for technical equipment with the building owner.
- Formulatingt a planning concept, including an approximate dimensioning of the main systems and facility components.
- Providing figures on cost-effectiveness.
- Drawing up a function chart or principal wiring diagram for the facilities.

DESIGN PLANNING

- Elaborating on the planning concept to result in the design plan.
- Determining the systems and facility components.
- Describing the facilities with regard to distribution schemes, choice of facility types, and positioning.
- Declaring and adjusting the procedures and load data necessary for structural pre-design.
